What's the best reputation to have? I have Edwin and the ToB NPC on the side of evil, who are always annoying me on how I should torture every beggar in a 3-mile radius, so I do. Then, I get Minsc covering me in Boo's used shavings, Aerie seems to do the impossible, become even more annoying, and Imoen goes all ... Imoeney. Is there such thing as having a totally content party?
And, just being weird, if Minsc constantly holds Boo all day, how does he wield a two-handed sword? There are no hamster cages in sight!

Why not download the Happy party MOD. Youll need to ask someone else for the link though

It's really a shame that Boo wasn't implemented in game as it should.
Boo should be used as additional attack when Minsc shouts ˝Go for the eyes Boo! Go for the eyes!˝ with 1% probability in melee atacks causing ˝blindness˝ to target, or at least be used once per day, also causing blindness.

"Why not download the Happy party MOD"

May I assume that this "MOD" (read, cheat?) produces a totally happy party even if you have, as an extreme example, lawful good characters that go around being the most evil force of nature out there? Yeah, ok, because 1)that makes total sense, really and 2)it's FAAAR too challenging to adopt a neutralish path in the case of various alignments in the same party, or to craft a more similarly aligned party. Yeah, get the mod!! Sheesh. I hope it does more than that at least. Consoles that recover bugged characters or items and MODs that add to the storyline or whatever I can see, but eschewing an integral part of DND gameplay to silence complaints that are your own fault to begin with is CHEAP and SILLY.

By the way that idea about Boo causing blindness etc. is a very good one!

I also speak against the Happy Group MOD. Sure, it does remove fights and NPCs leaving, but it also removes all interesting banters. ;)

There is no other way to keep your NPCs from complaining, though. You should've thought of the alignment-conflicts before you decided to take that party so far. ;)

As an aside, put spoiler tags up at once! People who doesn't have ToB won't know of this new NPC!

Do I understand correctly? That mod removes all the banter involving party members arguing? So Aerie won't leave anymore if Korgan's in the party, and the fights won't occur if certain members are together?

Will I still get to smack HD around if I'm romancing Aerie and he makes one too many bird comments?

Yet another voice against Happy Group. To me, it belongs in a special little triad: Happy Group, Multi-Stronghold, and Multi-Romance. All three are rule-breaking mods that do what the game specifically limited. (I mean, if the game MEANT for you to be able to get all the strongholds, contain a mixed party without conflict, and bugger all the romancable NPCs at the same time, the options would have been there to begin with, ne?) As such, all three can and probably will cause problems, and aren't very compatible with other mods.

I think that it makes sense for Good and Evil characters to not like each other, and force each other out, but I don't agree with one thing that the game limited in this regard - why, oh why, do Evil characters want to be *hated* ?? Surely it would suit their purposes better if society liked them, and practically let them take over without anyone thinking a second thought ?? Or, if they could murder someone who was in the road, and not even be suspected, rather than being the only suspect ??

The Offspring of Viconia and Edwin 07-24-2003 02:24 PM

I didn't want to have a completely happy party, just less annoying comments by the members. Also, if you are of a low reputation, you get to fight Cowled Wizards and Knights of the Most Radiant Heart. Whereas if you have a high reputation, you get discounts in stores. I, however, want both. I realise that Minsc has Boo on his shoulder in his picture, and Boo is actually a quick item, but have you ever tried to keep a hamster on your shoulder for a whole day?
And, just being reasonably normal, sorry for mentioning the TOB character. I hereby declare that I pledge my allegiance to SOA, and that TOB will soon be discarded into a large crater in my back garden.
