I've decided to return to these forums, and to BGII in general. Arcanum pissed me off too much, and the D2 community is degrading to hell (again). Anyway, new topic time =)
When does the Blade get a better THACO? I started one with * in Scimitar and Dagger, and ** in Two Weapon proficiency. His THACO was 17/19, IIRC. I couldn't hit the first friggin Mephit. I love the Blade, but if I can't hit anything in melee, the class loses some value. |
Leveling up helps that, along with those Gauntlets of Weapon Mastery and Expertise. Certain weapons help that too. I'd say going into Offensive spin helps that out but i never use the offensive spin with Haer'Daelis so I don't know

I don't know who you are but welcome back. I wouldn't know about those other games I'm not gonna stop playin' BG2 until the cows come home. And I don't have any freaking cows. ;)

IIRC, Rogues and Priests gain -2 bonuses to their THAC0 for every 3 EXP levels. What I don't understand is how there's only a 2-point difference between your On-hand THAC0 and your Off-hand THAC0 when you've got only ** in Two-Weapon Style: ** in Two-Weapon is supposed to nullify the penalty for the on-hand and reduce the off-hand penalty to +4.
The sad fact of the matter is that, despite all the hype surrounding the Blade and how skilled he is with weapons, it's all bull. The only classes that have good THAC0 are Warriors and Monks. [ADD:] Oh, wait, and the Swashbuckler. In your average map-clearing rumble, a Swashbuckler will outclass a Blade any day. [ 07-21-2003, 02:44 AM: Message edited by: SixOfSpades ] |
