Is there a way to add quick weapon slots using Shadowkeeper? I'm finding it really irritating that my fighter/mage only gets 2 quick slots  Just 1 more would be nice. Switching back & forth from my inventory is getting to be a pain.

I think not. This is the price you pay if you aree multi-class. But still what is wring with changing weapons in the inventory? F/M is still very powerful!

quick slots depend on your character class
if you are partly or full mage you only get 2 slots
only thing to do against that is changing your class but I assume that this is not an option for you

This is such an irritating problem that sonce nobody has made a MOD to fix it yet, I suspect that it must be hard-coded into the game. Yeah, having only 2 Quick Weapons is doable, but does anyone really need FOUR Quick Spells? Nobody ever uses Quick Spells anyway, that's what the Pause feature is for. I think ALL of the classes would throw their hands to the heavens and shout hallelujah if someone was to write a MOD that sacrificed the Quick Spells and that useless "Guard" button in favor of more Quick Weapons.

Of course, that still wouldn't help Cleric/Thieves, as they just have too many buttons as it is. But they could still benefit by having their Thieving button moved to the front menu and having their lesser-used skills, like Talk and Turn Undead, moved behind the Special Abilities button.

Xen:
It's not a matter of power, more of convenience. I'm currently working my way through the game with an all multi-class party. Since I tend to switch weapons quite frequently anyway, switching between inventories during combat ends up being quite a pain with 4 multi-classed characters. The strength of multi-classes is supposed to be versatility, so you'd think they would get more options with regards to what items they have easy access to.

Six:
Quick spell slots? Talk about no one ever using them, I've never even noticed them. Unless you're talking about quick item slots.

Pfffft! I happen to use Quick Spell slots a lot. Sureeee... you can pause the game, but I like to have some convenience and time-saving methods to access my opening spells instead of scrawling through a loooong list of castable spells.

You dont know the joy of a quick spell slot unless you;ve played a cleric mage till lvl 17

my burning questions is
Why do you need 4 quick qeapons slots for?

i normally dont even use 2 since I always have a bow and a sword/sword combo
which wont fit together in a quick weapon slot

Rikard_OHF 07-12-2003 05:55 AM

I do agree with you on the uselessness of the guard button though

That's not quite true: Icewind Dale ][ has fully customizable buttons. Icewind Gate conversion will do what it will do, we all know what that is. So we shall have needed number of slots.

That's not quite true neither. I do use those.

You don't have dart proficiency, do you ;) ? Throwing axes, darts and knives demands much management.

Rikard_OHF 07-12-2003 01:13 PM

i never bother using darts etc.

why use darts when you got bows, Xbows, slings and returning throwing axes
