Tor'Gal, eh? I'm gonna assume you don't have the tactics mod on.

Remember tnat all trolls need to be finished off (usually) with a douse of acid or fire. They are also more vulnerable to those damage types. Buff hard before the fight, and see if you can lure out only Tor'Gal, instead of him and his two cronies. If you can mark them beforehand with an invisible character and throw a fireball or cloudkill their way, that helps too. The biggest thing is to concentrate on one at a time. You need to be doing lots of repeated damage to win this sucker.

I found Torgal difficult as well, it took me several tries to beat him. What I found works is luring him into the room just outside the big room where he is, right after setting traps at the door. Then, summon a bunch of creatures (I'm assuming that you probably have Jaheira and maybe Aerie?) and have them attack Torgal while your other characters finish off his "cronies". Then finish him off. Hope this helps .

have some +1 ammo ready on all your chars but one. this oneis the decoy to draw torgal near. when he follows you, the decoy got to stand in the doorway and then cast otilukes resilient sphere on him. happy shooting.

You could also try to cast web or another spell which will hold him and his friends (then kill them). Just note that he's pretty fast.

Yes. This is very effective combination. It killes most of the hard creatures on the beginingg of the game. Even in mid-game it is still very effective.
