Never having been one with getting far with evil parties, I'm now determined to make this one work!

Currently, I have Jarren, a neutral evil jester. Accompanying him are Viconia, Jan, Minsc and Anomen.

But I would like advice on who you would have in your party - I'm keen on keeping Viconia, she will learn to love me dammit! Minsc gets taken with me out of sheer habit - he doesn't fit the party, neither does Anomen. But should I keep Anomen and make him fail his test? I like Jan, and want to keep him. I'm not keen on Korgan at all - every other time I've tried to take him I've ended up never playing the game after a while again :(

Ideas and suggestions are welcome

well, since there arent many evil npc's, youre pretty much stuck with your pc, viconia, korgan, jan and edwin plus some other character. if you really dont want to use korgan(even though he is probably the best fighter in the game, you could replace him with and minsc if you really want to, and then you could have CN anomen. as a side note, i cant say i recommend playing a jester. skald and blade are MUCH better kits.

Yeah, I've tried both before, but I'm trying to not take what I would usually - I'd take blade and skald to be more fight-wise, but the determination to play something that I wouldnt normally play is whats making this particular excusrion more enjoyable

Plus, I'm not against the odd bad feeling in the party, or people who decide to go off and fight each other to the death. There's usually replacements after all...

Given the scarcity of evil NPCs in the game, you might want to download some new ones:

www.weidu.org

is the best place. Valen is popular, there are various other evil NPCs available as well.

Ahh. Valen is interesting character...

but Valen and Solaufein are a bit overpowered

Ooooh, I didnt know there was a place to download extra chars - I'm not very technical, so is there anytthing special I need to do with them? And are there any other good downloads to play around with? Currently all I use are the actual SoA and ToB games unaltered.

You could make Anomen fail his test. Anomen makes a decent enough tank, but I would still take Korgan over Minsc in the party, mainly because evil acts will tend to drive him out. Jan is perfect for a Jester party, and Minsc would be if you weren't evil. Edwin is a great mage for an evil party, but he and Minsc don't get along. Haer'dalis also fits well in the party, but not the best NPC out there.
