Just wondering, does anyone know what spells/weapons they are vulnerable to. I'm trying to kill three of them (trade meet) and i dont think i have anything that can kill them.

I am a solo sorcerer (again:p) with a staff+1, a sling with normal bullets, no scrolls that work(against those Rakshasa), and have only spiders as summons (i get phase spiders)

My question is this: Can i kill them? If so, how? If not, what CAN hit/damage them?

Never mind, i leveled and got MMM, im pretty sure they can hit and damage rakshasas... im all set.

Eh, IIRC, MMM seems to only work against Rakshasas on crital hits. When I soloed my sorcerer, I put that quest on hold until Level 15, where I got Mord's Swords. Then I made mincemeat of them! :D

Ah tis was a beautiful sight...Beings who dared survive when I was lower-level thrown aside and chopped up as if they were nothing! Mmmm...I think I'll start a new solo game....

If you're relatively low level when you're fighting them, try summoning air elementals (spell or staff [**spoiler** haer'dalis quest]), I found that if you use minsc/jaheira/ a tank and a bunch of potions to keep them busy the air ellies will FRIGGING RIP THEM APART. Like, 30s, and they're dead. Also, there is a long sword somewhere that gives +3 or +5 against shapeshifters (aka, rakshasas). I don't remember where it is but it helps too.

As for the sword, perhaps you are refering to the Bastard Sword +1, +3 against Shapeshifters that Hendak gives you after you do the Slavers quest in the slums?

What? I cant even kill a Rakshasa, and you want me to fight a Tanar'ri!? Also, im soloing, no other party members to tank for me. The bastard sword+1, +3 against Shapeshifters is found while doing the Slaver quest in the Copper Coronet (another quest i haven't done) but im a sorcerer, i cant use swords anyway.

What i did:

Cast Spell Immunity:Evocation. Went in to her room, talked to her, she transformed, cast cloudkill at me, but im immune(its an evocation spell), then summoned spiders to tank, and threw MMM at them until they died (took all my level 3 slots worth of MMM to get them) Spiders were dead before i got the second one to injured status, so i did alot of running/casting stoneskin/mirror image.
