Okay, this is a reccoring problem with my mage/theif CN elf.
I sleep and have a dream about Candelkeep. Have to put familer in bag so i don't blast it to peices by ice (happened by accident)

wake up, resummon familier.....
.... only it is in the dream candlekeep. I can't contact it, and once I click onto a caracter portarit, can't find it.

Short of getting it killed, resulting in painful losses in CON for my character, how can I stop this from happeneing?

Hmmm. try
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR0028")
and get it into backback.
Then
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR0400")
to get to Slums.

This makes no sence to me.

And why do I want it in the slums? I@m outside the Asylum

Of course.
The first command (which you have to write into console) transports you to the area of the dream. You should save first, though. When you arrive there, get to your familiar and order it to get to your backpack.

Now write the second command and you should be in the slums. But, because you were outside Asylum, write
CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR1500")
instead. That will bring you back to the Asylum entrance area.

If you don't have the console enabled (if you don't know what is it, you don't have), check the Ironworks website, cheats section. It should be there.

There is an easier way, though, if I recall corectly how the familiar spell functions.
Kill the familiar. When the dream is over, recast the spell. Use the ShadowKeeper to give the missing CON point back.

Question: Do you have the patches? IIRC this bug was supposedly fixed in one of the offical ones. If you don't have it I'd download it it may fix your problem.

pacthces scrap up my game. The Sola mod and the other patches resulted in their being no words.

So you go to "enable cheat console", go into the game, and where do you type the stuff?

Sorry, I'm a bit useless.

clua stuff goes like this:

first you go to the baldur.ini file and type Debug Mode=1 under the program options. then you start the game and press ctrl+space and start typing in the codes

Modderaphobia! Chronic fear of game modifications! We should add that to the dictionary...... ;)

Well, blame the Solaufein mod, not the patches. The patches fix bugs, they don't make them!

ADD: Dragonshadow, did you back up Dialog.tlk, like most mode Readmes tell you to? That's generally the best way to reverse the effects of a mod on a game, after uninstalling it. Uninstall the Sola mod and back up your dialog.tlk file. Then if you install anything again you can revert to the original dialog file if it doesn't work. Simple. ;)

You're confusing me! ALl I wanted was to be able to get Sola in my party, and I wind up having all sorts of trouble! All i know is:

No words anywhere exept title.

</font>
It should be in your main folder....

And by the way, I had a fate spirit problem. It wouldn't initiate dialogue, and the challenges weren't working either. I had to re-install the game, it was related to the installation of Ascension.
