I was fighting Bodhi, and after leaving the dungeon, this guy, Melchor Harpell, appears. He followed me around every where, and when I tried to have my party members rest, it said: "You may not rest at this time." I also could not save anymore, only the Auto-Save went on. This never happened till Melchor Harpell appeared, which happened nearly 3 months ago, so I figured he had something to do with it. I've been playing Demise: Rise of the Ku'tan instead since my party could not properly function anymore (they had all been fatigued for days now). Then I found this forum and read back on the posts, and saw that others had this problem as well. The solution was to give Melchor Harpell back any item from Drizzt, however, I could not speak to Melchor Harpell nor could I kill him. I did not even take any of Drizzt's items in this game, however, I had both of his scimitars imported from my BG1 game. Is this a bug or is it part of the game?
I also read another post about the control-q button, so I tried that on him. He joined my party, and he was wearing the belt that Imoen had on in the beginning of the game (the one that cannot be taken off). Very strange.... In the Melchor Harpell post, I saw taht a solution wasn't clearly defined. I think I found a solution to the problem, but I'm not sure if it's a spoiler, so I will put the indication anyway.

I kicked him out and then he left my party alone permanantly. I can save the game and my party can rest again. He no longer used dimension door to get to my party. Just thought I'd let some else who is having this problem know!

'Imoen's Belt' prevents character from dying. You could smack'n'whack him till the end of the world and he would still be live and kicking. Like vice you could cast every spell your mages know (with on expection, see below) and still he wouldn't kick the bucket. Even Ctrl+Y won't kill him. (Am I correct?) However, there is one way to kill him, if you really want to..

Shapeshift yourself to a mindflayer and suck his brain out!

But I can't say this or that about him otherwise. I haven't met him a single time.. At least on this Drizzt matter. Does he appear if you romance Jaheira? I have a fuzzy image in my head that he would..

Even I'm not cruel enough to do that to him

McHaggis, no. Once you leave the Underdark, you are "Waylaid by enemies and must defend yourself". It's Drizzt! You can recruit him in your fight against Bodhi.

If you do, if Drizzt dies during the fight Melchor comes and asks you for his stuff. He takes it even if you refuse!
