Normally when ToB is uninstalled it removes the whole game. Any advice how to do it without the need of reinstaling SoA.
I need to remove ToB in order to play Multiplayer game, but I don't have the time to reinstall this big game.
On connection the server version is 2.0.22956 and mine is 2.5.26498 what causes disconnection - if you know how to solve this ?
Thanks.

AFAIK you cannot do seperate uninstall. You uninstall both-i hate this too.
About connection i do not know.

ToB dosent just add on its new content, it also overrides the SoA exe and some of its files as well. I suppose it might be possible to hack yourself back to a stable SoA install, but it would take longer than it would just to re-install it.

each of those is the version of the game.
2.0.22956 is BG2 patched
2.5.26498 is TOB patched
those are the official version numbers of each game exe. when you play MP yous (the second one) hasta match the server version (first one). that's why you can't play.

what will happen if I just edit my version number so it matches the server's one? I suppose it can be found somewhere in ini file or in the registry.

Diff versions use different protocols (IMHO) = different ways of clienrt/server communication. If they connect at all, the outcome would be unpredictable at least. Game crash, character corruption, even server crash if its not secure enough are all possible.

And I think version number is set in the exe file as a #define - means at compilation. No registry/ini file tinkering will do. At least, thats the way I would have had it done.
