Heh... that must be the oldest thread I keep updating besides the Forum FAQ.

Speaking of which... I need help on how to boost the Elemental Resistance of the Wizard Slayer->Thief. As it is, the WS->T is still vulnerable to elemental attacks except Electricity and Poison( heals from Electricity even).

You can refer to the tables in that thread to see what's current. Once I am more or less satisfied... I will see whether my "Guardian Mod"( the first one I conceptualised) is viable at last.

Feel free to replace +%MR items with elemental resistances items, but the phydmg resistances must stay.

Wow, not sure how that thread managed to slip me by!

Dundee, since you're using mods, why not use the Lilith amulet aquired from Pontifex? (ok, so we're sacrificing 10% MR, but there may be other ways to increase this). In terms of elemental protection Lilith amulets provide +50% resistance to electricity and +50% resistance to magic cold. Couple this with the ring of elemental mastery and we have 100% electrical resistance leaving absolutely no need for the cloak of reflection. Lilith amulets also set poison immunity to 100%, making Gaxx redundant in terms of elemental protection (although if we remove Gaxx too we are now losing a total of 20% MR).

If we are looking at all the possible forms of damage as equal in terms of threat, then the higher we can get the percentage of each the better. Ideally of course, we want 100% in elemental, magical and physical damage as well as 100% protection against all magical attacks. It therefore makes sense to equip the ring of fire resistance instead of Gaxx, since a +40% boost in one particular damage form is universally better that a +10% boost in another.

I need to have a think about if there is a better ring to equip that the ring of fire resistance, and also if there are any other cloaks that we can use to our benefit now that the cloak of reflection is redundant.

May I ask why are you interested in all-around elemental protection? Most magical attacks that deal elemental damage are stopped cold by Magic Resistance. I'm guessing, but perhaps you're interested in FoA-kind of elemental damage protection? Even then, some items that deal elemental damage (notably, Dragon's Breath) are also stopped by high Magic Resistance.

ADD] Oh, and Dundee... isn't this an obvious ToB thread? ;)

Heh, true. Hang on for a sec, let me make a thread over at the ToB Forum.

You're right. In SoA, having 100% magic and physical resistance will grant you 99.9% protection from all forms of attack and damage in the game. I guess this is just a test to create a completely invulnerable character. Elemental damage can still occur from (real) Dragons Breath (Red Dragon Fire/Shadow Dragon Acid etc), or walking across a pit of fire (think temple ruins dungeon), even if you have 100% MR.

Since you've said Dragons Breath +4 will be stopped by MR, I'm now wondering if this is the case for all other elemental weapons (club of detonation/backblood etc). If not, then the elemental resistance will also prove somewhat useful here too.
