How would I know if it already tried to find me and I missed doing something? I'm seriously thinking that's what has happened.

The silver sword is an artifact of great cultural import...Warlike cultural (like the Gith) don't often leave those floating around for very long. As Six said, seek not the answer. The answer will seek you. And when it finds you, only your consience will help you choose what to do.

If you missed doing something, you would be dead. When the blade comes to you, it wont be possible to ignore it.
