I'm picking up my game where I started a good monk, and just realized something. I really would like to get the Gauntlets of Crushing for him, but that in the Sahuagin City it is considered the "good" path to help the Prince rather than the King. Any time I've pickpocketed the King, I never get them. Is there any way to get the Gauntlets other than helping the King? Just wondering, since it is out of character for a LG monk to side with the crazy king in effectively exterminating his people (well, they are evil, but.... :D ).

no, i dont think there is any other way. but as you said, the sahuagin are an evil race, and as lawful good people strive to smite all that is evil, it may even be considered the "good" path(roleplaying wise) after all. its all up to how you want to role play your character...

...therefore you could side with the prince and kill him afterwards or plainly said: Do whatever you need to get the Gauntlets and just make sureto kill all remaining Sahuagin afterwards to cleanse the earth from their stain.

True! In fact, why is it the good path necessarily to encourage the regrowth of an evil species. Now if I were a druid or another true neutral, then almost certainly I would side with the prince to avoid the extinction of a species. But for good guys? It might be more logical to side with the King, and let them be weakened.

However, the King also lets you know that they are holding back the other evil races in the Underdark, at great cost to them. Thus, it by destroying them, you are letting drow, mind flayers, etc. have a foothold onto the (somewhat) surface world.

An interesting dilemma, either way.

That is true! I do wipe out everything in the underdark except for the deep gnomes, Adalon and the duergar merchants, so it's not like there will be anything for them to hold back anymore... :D

besides, you only have the word of an evil king that his race is all that's between humans and the hordes of hell. pfeh! he's trying to ensure the longevity of his rule and race by dangling that line in front of you.

i bet as soon as you head off, feeling all good about the outcome, ole crazy king is plotting his invasion of the human lands.

V***V

Im sure there is a way to CLUA them in and i know there is though i do not suggest it because cheating is wrong but it is up to you.

Well, since you are lawful and the king is the legal heir to the throne you might as well help him rather then the prince. It would be the Lawful AND the good thing to do.
