Is there anyway to reduce the time between spells for wizards? Clerics can cast one spell after another almost immediatly, however wizards take there time Is there any way to shorten the gap?

i'm no expert but casting times can be reduced by certain items (a robe and an amulet off the top of my head) and spells (EDIT, TOB ability removed ;) )

i guess you can also achieve this with spell sequencers and triggers

spell stuff is here (from the forum FAQ)

Both Cleric and Wizards can cast 1 spell - that's ONE spell - per round. Each spell has a casting time, ranging from 1 to 10, which expresses the time it takes to cast the spell, 1 being the shortest, and 10 being a full round. It only seems like Cleric cast faster, because their spells take longer to cast (=longer casting times). ;)

Now, as for decreasing times, I'll separate the answer:
</font>
 • Yes, there is a way to decrease the casting time of spells. The Robe of Vecna (-4 casting time), the Amulet of Power (-1 casting time) and Drow Chainmail (-1 casting time, unusable by pure Mages/Sorcerers) will all serve you well.</font>
 • Yes, there is a way to ignore the "one spell per round" rule, but it involves a certain ToB High Level Ability. It is considered to be one of the most powerful spells in the game because it'll allow you, in conjunction with the Robe and the Amulet (which, as said above, decrease casting times), to unleash nearly all your spellbook in two rounds! That's a lot of Magic. :D</font>

It's well worth getting, the 8 million EXP cap alone justifies the price :D

The HLA's name is IA - Improved Alacrity. It is of any school, and it allows to cast spells contineously one after another for 2 rounds. As its said before, in conjunction with The Robe and The Amulet it makes you able to unleash all your spellbook. Great spell

The HLA is available only tro sorcs and mages.

i find it rather amusing to fill edwins first level spell slots with magic missles, cast IA, then start casting. talk about the ultimate dragons bane :D !

TaSSaDaR 05-19-2003 09:53 AM

I may find this funny too, but since I have a real slow comp (Cel333) the game uses to crash if it has to redraw more than 3 Magic Missiles at a time. Never mind 7-8 ADHW's my sorc used to launch
