What do you prefer? I prefer F/M/T becuese he has more weapon options and better THAC0 but Bard(especially) Blade make fun and good character, becuase it is good combo of brains, magic and melee. He has Tensor`s transformation too and Stoneskins,Use any Item ,...

What about you?

Stratos 05-15-2003 03:49 PM

IIRC with ToB a F/M/T gets the new fighting moves and thief skills while the Bard only get´s the thief skills ( with some differences.) A F/M/T also have access to, correct me if I´m wrong. to lv 8 ( and lv 9?) spells as well, but despise all that I like the Blade better. Except for most of the normal thief skills the Blade has what the F/M/T has in some way or another all squeezed into one class. He also have Offensive/Defencive Spin, high lore and Improved Bard song. Besides he´s got more style.

I fully agree with you...

Bards are just...well...stylish

I just finished a game with a F/M/T and I think you guys are right. He is somehow all and nothing and gets a bit boring, though he has always the right answer to a problem. Maybe I should solo him, but in a party of six you have better mages, better tanks and probably better thieves as well if the game offered any.
I haven't played a bard yet, so I cannot comment on that side of the post.

A F/M/T is only really good if you play solo, in a party of six they level up very slowly. Besides if you have six party members it´s better to have somwewhat more specialized characters.

Nice point, near, god would be best description

Stratos 05-16-2003 10:04 AM

Yes, I was a bit uncertain about that as well, hence the question mark. He would be over-powered.

Xen 05-16-2003 10:30 AM

Yes...but F/M is near god too...
