I originally played Baldur's gate, Tales of the sword coast, as a Elf Mage, and after completing that, i went on to play Shadows of Amn.. I imported my character, and started playing, but after a while, (during a battle in which my main character was getting Ass-wipped) i realised that my main character had 244 health, and a default armour class of 20, which went down considerably (to around 5 or so) just by putting on a ring of protection. This didnt really bother me at first. I asked a friend (who went as a mage too) and his health was around 150. This made my character seem more normal, until he told me that HIS character was level 41.
My computer can be a little screwey at times, but this is rather weird..
Of course, i'm not complaining, (would you!?)
Its just i'm interested to see if anyone has any idea as to how this actually happened?

It is a known bug when importing a BG1 character to BG2.

Lol, love the little row of funny dudes..
As for my character having excessive health, i'm not worrying too much about it. I've finished Shadows of Amn now, and am playing Throne of Bhaal.
Funny thing was, on my first attempt at Killing Irenicus, Every character on my team died... Except My main character!!! :)
(although this is partly due to to the ring of Gaxx..)
I Plan on replaying the game as a Chaotic Evil character, and raising the difficulty to hardcore. I will probably just reimport my character, and use some character editor to change my alignment. (I've been told it can be done). I'm debating whether to reduce the health to a more "normal" level as well, but i'm undecided... Ideas?

To get more HP than that legitamately as a L22 mage (and this is what I do with my Kensai to L21, then dual to mage allows advancement to L22...)...

9*10 = 90 (first 9 levels of advancement of fighters with max HP)
9*6 = 54 (constitution 22 (wont see the benefits of this until the fear tear))
12*3 = 36 (12 levels of 3HP per level, between levels 10 and 21)
10 (deck of many things, ToB)
12/24 (depending on familiar, 12hp. ToB, 24hp)
15 Greed tear

Total:
205 + familiar 12/24 = 217/229 ToB. But we can do better than that :D

Pale green Ioun stone, +10% hp so...

205 + 10% = 225.5 (rounded up/down? I don't know). +24 ToB familiar gives an impressive 249.5HP permenanently in effect.

Dual wield Katanas. Grand Mastery. Stoneskin, Improved Haste, Tensers Transformation = Much scariness.

Enjoy kiddies :D
