SPOILERS-if YOU ARE PLAYING THE GAME FIRST TIME DO NOT READ!!
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Ok...when you change into Slayer it is useless... Tell me 1 thing wich is good about it: Bad sides: -constantly taking damage -reduces your HPs to 100 and AC to -18 -if you are Bhaal`s vesille to long you just die Good sides: Immunity to imprisonment BUT we have SI:Abjuration or Potion ot Scroll Of Freedom... C`mon where do you see Imprisonmnet anyway?Ok Liches and Demi-Liches but they are also PfUndead Scrolls out there.. So bassiclly..NONE Wanna share opinions? Cheers |
this could be interesting. i've personally not used the Slayer enough to know much about it. i usually do it just for fun if my party dies and i'm left alone, in which case i reload after the battle is over anyway :/

The slayer changes your strength and DEX to 25 and gives you great THACO, and can you really be complaining about having an AC of -18??? I'm not too far in the underdark (have gone through the Beholder dungeon) and the slayer has already saved my life once, and it would have been twice in the beholder place, but I didn't want to lose any more rep, so I just finally did after about 30 tries.
I've also already faced the imprisonment spell about 3 or 4 times (including the beholder place) and it has caused me a lot of trouble. It's only fitting that you start to take damage pretty soon because the Slayer is so powerful. I don't know if you are soloing, but when you have a party, the Slayer is definitely an advatage to your normal PC at the time that you get it. |
Well, if you're evil, but you have too high rep, you could keep turning into it and back to get less rep. (Personaly I'd keep the Bhall powers ;) )

Oh I forgot something...you say If i am playing with a party(wich i am) it can save your ass. I agree but if you are roleplaying a Paladin for instance, would you really change into Ravager?
But then VS Imprisonment we have :Enrage too... |

The Slayer, IMO, is not meant as a quick reputation reducer or cheap alternative to Imprisonment. |
Slayers kick butt you know why reaad below
Okay now you are reading below. First time I stumbled onto a drow party I changed into a slayer and kicked their butts all of them couple priesstess fighters. But personally I would have loved to keep those Bhaal spawn powers that were given to you. I agree with you Xen slayer isn't the best thing in the world but it can come in handy in very sticky situtaitons. I always try to avoid changing into a slayer my rep is low enough as it is! Besides why does it lower your rep if you are soloing? |
ever used slayer when your a sorc or mage? dont think so if you did, you would know how good it feels to solo a dragon in pure melee using a sorcerer. ;)
it might be useless for fighter and other types, but for us casters with trouble fighting in melee and staying alive, it works wonders. I usually only use it for dramatic battles, ex. dragon, bodhi, irenicus, etc. etc. (i dont just use it on every ole battle i have trouble with.) |
I agree that a Paladin wouldn't do it, but I also like the way Pirengle put it: with all the temptations of power from Irenicus, a good aligned character can change. The slayer is a very tempting thing. My character is a fighter of good alignment, but I've already turned into the slayer twice! http://community.the-underdogs.org/s...isc/frown2.gif http://community.the-underdogs.org/smiley/misc/uhoh.gif
Xero also made a good point about the mage thing. |
