I've just started with a stalker and he seem pretty good. Just wondering is they are good for the long run, preferably into TOB aswell?.

Any class is good for the long haul it’s all a matter of developing them and equipping them.

A stalker would do well with the shadow dragon armor and any number of weapons. Katana, long sword, short bow are good combinations.

Stalkers are Good For:</font>

• Backstabbing enemies, perhaps even more effectively than a Thief (although the Stalker's Backstab Multiplier is not as high, they have a much better THAC0, so they have better odds of making the hit.)</font>
• Sneaking around and scoping out the bad guys, before they even know they're there</font>
• Sneaking to be just within somebody's sight range, shooting an arrow into their eye, then running out of sight and going into Stealth again, giggling
  
  Stalkers are NOT Good For:</font>
• Finding and Disarming Traps</font>
• Backstabbing with any weapon that a normal Thief couldn't use</font>
• Charging headlong into battle</font>
