I was tweaking some of my characters last night (Its so much fun when you don't Constantly Die...!) and I decided to give them a bag of holding each. After that was done was when Imoen got whisked away and all her stuff got distributed. Well a very strange thing happened when I looked in her bag of holding: everything from each bag was combined into both bags (duped).
Then I noticed that when I'd take items out of bag 1 to sell them, they'd sell & then Magically reapear in bag 1! It was like I'd given myself the gift of unlimited gold!!! (Boy, did I shower Aerie with spell scrolls!!!) [ 04-24-2003, 10:02 AM: Message edited by: quietman1920 ] |
Trick it is not, but cheating. To cut short the explanation, you failed to give them a different Bag of Holding each, and this results in the 'bug' you are experiencing.

Well, we could conceive that occurrencee as a planar disturbance that caused duplication of those items. Some kind of a space-time rift.
Such things work in Star Trek, you know . |
I always thought that was made purposely into the game. When you have one than one Bag of Holding, the items you put into one also appear in the other but I think that happens in all games. Try fixing it with the Baldurdash Fixpack, though I'm not too sure if they correct the Bag of Holding bug.

Easiest way to fix it: Throw away 5 of the Bags. What, were you trying to carry off every movable object in the game or something?

Find bottomless Bag of Holding here.

<font color=white> Though the bottomless bag of holding has a limit
Maybe its a bug or something but I have EoU installed with the specific component and I get the message that it is full (not like the normal bag of holding though, that one was full after 150 items or so).. I have like 1300 items in it (including bolts/potions/arrows ect..) Anybody else noticed that? </font> |
If two bags (or any container come to that) have the same item code, the game keeps their contents in the same memory spot. Containers in infinity engine seem to be a bit of a hack, but as long as you dont cheat to get more than one of the same code, its OK.
SK will list all the different bags. IIRC there are only about 3 installed with SoA though, you need ToB to have enough for everyone. |
