The weapon of the famed Berserker Minsc, no one is sure how the weapon came into his hands. It is a fearsome flanged mace, which Minsc frequently uses to crack nuts.

THAC0 +3
Damage 1d8+5
Speed factor 3

Special. There is a 10% chance that the target is struck in the nuts. When struck in the nuts, target is stunned for 2 rounds, (from being bent over) blinded for 4 rounds, (From having their eyes clinched shut) and silenced for 4 rounds. (From not being able to breathe) Note, this only works on male targets. After being struck in the nuts and recovering from the stun, most victims will try to flee the situation, blindly stumbling away. (Morale failure) Also, there is a small chance (3%) that the target is polymorphed into a squirrel (Save vs Polymorph at -2 or be squirrelified)

Well, what do you think? Seeing as how there are no flanged maces in the game, I added one, a darn good one I might add. (Flanged Mace. 1d8+2 damage base)

Sounds good. Maybe you should make a mod to go with it. Then the innuendo can REALLY fly

It is tough, indeed. Slightly weaker than Celestial Fury through most of SoA, since once an opponent is stunned for two rounds, he is pretty much dead, so blindness and wandering about with morale failure doesn't really enter into it, but much more powerful through ToB levels, since CF victims of around 14th level will be failing only on a 1 by then, while the Mace victims will fail twice as often (assuming no save, of course). OTOH, Doom and Greater Malison are wonderful additions to parties with a CF user, but would have virtually no effect with the mace.

Guess it depends on whether you consider CF overpowered or not.

There is no save for being struck in the nuts... Tis a painful thing that only a athletic protector could save you from, or perhaps a really good reinforced codpiece. However, a flanged mace would rip through both of these, due to it's armor crushing nature. Flanged maces were made to rip open Gothic Plates, making even the most well armored knight nothing more then a can of sardines begging to be opened.

"Go for the eyes Boo, I am going for the NUTS!"

Minsc's Nutcracker +6

Regents needed.

Acorn Hulls. (Special item, given to you after you complete the Dryad's Quest, these are the hulls of the acorns given you. Still a very potent magic item, even though the seeds have been removed)

Boo Droppings. Easily found by digging through Minsc's pack. (Will appear when needed for item upgrade.)

Skull Cracker Mace.

THAC0 +6
Damage 1d8+8
Speed factor 1
+3 damage to huminoid creatures.

Special. There is a 10% chance that the target is struck in the nuts. When struck in the nuts, target is stunned for 2 rounds, (from being bent over) blinded for 4 rounds, (From having their eyes clinched shut) and silenced for 4 rounds. When struck in the nuts, there is a 5% chance that the victim's gender is forever changed. Note, the damage is so bad that there is no means of having this healed or cured, it is not a curse and therefore, Remove Curse does not work. Victim undergoes a permenate sex change. Note that female targets are no longer at risk from the nut crushing nature of the mace.

Hmmm....I really like the idea, but not the permanent sex change, or the Polymorphing. Otherwise, quite fun.

How 'bout....

Boots of Butt Kicking

- Protection from Evil
- Grants Mastery (***) in Long Sword, Bastard Sword, 2-Handed Sword
- Adds 6 extra damage to all hits against creatures of Evil alignment
Only Usable By: Minsc

Butterfingers 04-23-2003 08:52 PM

Nice idea, but, missing something.

Minsc never actually kicks a single butt.

Add a once per day "Kick" ability to the boots, with a Wing Buffet effect, to allow Minsc to litterally kick evil butt right acrossed the room.

That might be the upgraded version. :D I want to write quests for all of the "Forgotten NPCs," such as Minsc, Viconia, Imoen, Valygar, etc., and Minsc's quest reward would be either these Boots or the Helm of Sanity, which is essentially a glorified Helm of Charm Protection that also grants immunity to Confusion, Feeblemind and the like, and also casts Good Berries once per day (for Boo).

A swift smack in the specialties can be harmful to either gender, Butters. ;) :D If it's possible, might I suggest a 1-round stun and 2-round silence for female targets?

Butterfingers 04-23-2003 11:31 PM

Minsc would never hit a lady in the eggcrate. He's not that sort of guy.

:D
