Firstly, this post contains spoilers detailing Korgan's (mis)adveture, just so you know...

Now then, once again I found myself in the same depressing scenario... I had just finished exploring the tomb in the graveyard district. I am now in the Temple district, and with that familiar sense of foreboding I go to Pimlico's estate, only to find that the door is barred to me yet again. *sigh* So I go to the Slums, waste Scagbag and collect the book. And of course the journal entry remains there till the end of the game since the quest never "officially" completed.

But! This time (on a whim) I decided to *talk* to Korgan. (This was sometime later in another game) He then proceeded to inform me that the crypt should be around here somewhere, and it's pretty old (or something to that effect). Well this was something new! I immediately reloaded to the point where I enter the Temple district. I talk to Korgan... he says the same thing! I speak to him again and he says the line about Pimlico's house having already been looted. But he says nothing more at that point. I then quickly go to the Slums and butcher Scagbag. I talk to Korgan... he speaks his final phrase and the quest concludes properly, even though I never entered Pimlico's house!

I finally managed to get rid of that *blasted* entry in my journal. And to think how many times I went through the game with that unfinished entry in the journal, mocking me every time I looked at it. Well that's it... it worked for me and I sincerely hope it works for you!

Ah, yet another bug I have been trying to track down. If you have a copy of a savegame with the problem occurring (ie before you talked to Korgan numerous times) and you don't mind Zip/RAR'ing it and mailing it to me (address in profile) 'twould be much appreciated. Kudos in the readme!

I find that the quest can become bugged whenever Korgan fails to "step on" ant of the various trigger areas. For instance, there's a trigger outside the Pimlico Estate, which detects if Korgan has been to the tomb, and if he has, he says his line about "spiced rum, diligrout and Pimlico's noonmeats." If Korgan's wearing the Boots of Speed, however, he can zip through the Temple District and even pop right into Pimlico's house, because the trigger area wan't quick enough to "see" him dash by. That's why, when some people fail to get Korgan to give that speech, I suggest rubbing Korgan back and forth along the front of the building until he says it.

A similar trigger occurs in Pimlico's bedroom--if you send somebody else in to loot the bodies, Korgan never gives that speech, either.

Ooh! Sorry! I already overwrote that particular savegame. But I will keep you in mind when I try it again since it seems to happen almost every game I play. Mind you, Edwin's Nether Scroll quest failed to start too, so I used the 'talk' strategy (heh) to move him along as well. But I'll get the file to you when I play another game with Korgan in it.
