I am very bored at the moment (as well as very busy) and end up daydreaming about ways to play these marvelous game(s).

I've only ever 80% finished BG1 and got 20% of the way through SoA so I've got loads of potential of course compared to the real professionals but even so

I want to:

Finish BG/Soa/ToB with my current druid and a 'normal' party
Solo a fighter through BG1 then ->
-> Kensai->Mage (i know - i know) with a couple of NPCs (vaguely evilly)
Multiplayer Sorcerer & Monk duo (i was going to say solo sorcerer and solo monk but this just occurred to me now)
Edit: F/M/T is unavoidable i guess

So what are your outstanding BG projects?

Currently soloing a F/T/M on Insane with the full array of Weimer mods - Without any reloads whatsoever.

Granted I've failed quite a few times along the way (died just yesterday), but I'm still struggling and most certainly wont give up until I've beaten Ascension. Already gotten to about 5 000 000 XP three times.

Don't know what I'll do after that, maybe do the same with a party?

i shudder to think but does that mean that if you die you start again from the dungeon (i assume you're talking SoA & ToB yes?)?

Just gonna download some mods then IŽll play a sorcerer/monk duo as well. Should be interesting.

Elf female sorcerer

Euhm... currently playing with a Kensai/Mage 13/32 with Sola as company (he's rather useless with a lesser deity by his side :D )

Probably going to solo a Anti-Paladin through the game with some evil npcs by his side... for some banter ect...

Mods that I have at the moment are:
- Tactics
- Imp. Items (WeiDU/Forgotten Wars)
- Valen
- Solaufein
- Kelsey

Al great and work fine with each other.

Owyaa! Sig Chance :D

Pirengle 04-10-2003 01:23 PM

My current project involves an anti-magic party. After reading all those posts about solo magery on insane, I decided to take a full party without magic through the game on insane.

(Therefore, Pirengle wins the "see how insane I am" contest. :D )

There are no magic users in my multiplayer-turned-singleplayer party. No mages, no clerics, no bards, no rangers, no spellcasting paladins. Nobody has points in blunt weaponry (except two people with slings).

How I rolled stats: I took the number rolls I was given, but assigned them to the stats I wished. For every stat I made 18, I sacrificed 2 points from elsewhere (one to push the stat to 18, another unused and just thrown out). For stats I made 19, I sacrificed 3 points.

My party:

Lillisande
class: wizard slayer
race: elf
primary stat: constitution (17)
weapons: halberds and spears
notes: no gauntlets, amulets, rings, boots, cloaks, wands, scrolls, or potions, and no clerics! Healing her has proved to be a royal pain in the posterior. Her saving throws will get better as time goes on, and so will her mage-whooping skills, but until then she's regulated to pack mule duty, pretty much. Halberd was chosen for Azuredge upgrade, and spear to take advantage of early game seat-kicking spears.

Gesherei
class: kensai
race: halfling
primary stat: dexterity (19)
weapons: dual-wielding scimitars
notes: primary tank atm, and lack of armor isn't slowing her down a bit. Chose scimitars to take advantage of the great ones the game sprinkles on you like gentle spring rain.

Gideon
class: undead hunter
race: human
primary stat: charisma (17)
weapon: long sword and shield
notes: The undead cavalier! What could be better. I plan on selling Daystar--with his bonuses, why should he need it? ;)

Joshua
class: vanilla fighter
race: human
primary stat: strength (18/52)
weapons: composite long bow and crossbow
notes: Didn't want to repeat a kit, so made him vanilla. Mr. Missile.

Timerlarian
class: monk
race: human
primary stat: strength (17)
weapons: katana and sling, plan to use fists only ASAP
notes: Always wanted to play a monk, and he's been slowly sapping the party dry by spending any extra gold on drinking binges. I was hoping townsfolk had some drunk-only dialogues, but was disappointed.

Suren Silverstrike
class: vanilla thief (points in find traps, pick locks, and detect illusions only)
race: dwarf
primary stat: constitution (19)
weapons: short bow/crossbow/sling
notes: 19 con, 17 dex, who needs to sneak around? We can kick your butt right out in the open, thank you very much.

Many weapon choices were to get ready for late-game neat toys or have early-game advantages. And boy, this party will need every single one. Ilmater's priests know us by name. Beverages cost much more than scrolls. I think Roger's hitting on Gesherei. But I think in the long run, these anti-magicians could even give a beefy solo mage a run for his/her money.

Xen 04-10-2003 01:25 PM

Soloing an Anti-Paladin,and I just obtained the Celestial Fury+3...then i will upgraded it on to CFury+5..oh and i will dual-wielding Sanchuudoku+4 too :D :D
CAN YOU SPELL C-H-E-E-S-E?

SixOfSpades 04-10-2003 03:23 PM

As an amusing counterpart to Pirengle's party, my current Gang of Six (which is just about to enter Chapter 7) includes:
Zarmen, the Male Chaotic Good Gnomish Fighter/Illusionist
Aerie
Jan Jansen
Edwin
Nalia
Kelsey

Gee....guess which Stronghold we took? :D

Early game was HELL--due to the shocking lack of brawling ability, I cheesed Zarmen's STR/DEX/CON all to hell, with maximum rolls in each, and he's been using nothing but the FoA and Axuredge+4. Once Zarmen's Saves started hitting the Negative range, however, everything was smooth sailing. (Before that, his weak Save vs. Death caused me ENDLESS pain. I must have died about 50 times, failing to Save vs. that damn Paralytic Gaze in the Planar Sphere.)

Oh--we still haven't done Mencar Pebblecrusher yet. I'm going to see how much overkill we can pack into one little room. :D
