i'm daydreaming about my next go at SoA . . .
my question is how 'active' a weapon needs to be to benefit from its special abilities say i have, lilarcor (or similar) & a staff both in weapon quickslots with the staff active and in use would you expect me to be benefiting from lilarcors immunities? thanks |
Nah, u need to be using the item in order to gain the special abilities.

Though sometimes the special abilities can be activated without using the weapon. There are f.e. 2 short swords ( I think Ilbratha and Arbane's sword )
who give, respectively Haste for 12 seconds when activated, and Mirror Image. These are not permanent abilities, but things you can activate at any given time .. you wont need to use them to be able to select these abilities .. just have them somewhere in your weaponslots |
thanks both

Daystar works the same with it's Sunray abilitie, you don't need to have it equipped - it works fine if it is in one of your quick item slots (SotM is another example).

U cannot use its special combat abilities(like immunity to confusion, immunity to hold) if its not being equipped. Though if the weapon is in ur quick slot u can however use its spell charges(like Sunray from Daystar, Fireball-Lighting from SoTM) Hope this helps.
