Its getting really annoying whenever I try to do something I have to watch my character stop and let the game catch up with itself. Any ideas would be welcome.

Update your video driver, sometimes graphics will slow the game down because it can'tr process all of the information.

Bit late i know! but if you've only done a medium install then try the full install - it speeds up load times nicely and my game ran a bit sweeter too!
