Why is it that Imoen, as a Bhaalspawn, can be resurrected, and the PC cannot?

Why is it that Maze on the PC ends the game if all of your party members are dead, but not while they are alive?

well for #1 a good story kinda sucks with no protagonist lol.
and for #2 would you rather it end when you get mazed period? Maze is actually a pretty darn annoying spell, it would really be bad to end a game on a non- lethal spell like that, especially when a LOT of enemies have the capability to cast it and it is fairly difficult to counter

Maze-because nobody is physically there to fight. You'll often find that if the rest of your party are dead and you are dominated the game ends too.
I don't knmow what difficulty you're playing it on, but Immy always seems to die in spectacular ways and therefore can never be resurrected for me

1. Your party is hopelessly lost without you. They have chosen to follow you till the day you die, at whcih they brake off and lead their sperate lives, execpt for Immy, she dies because Irenicus Plagued her.....

2. See Number 1.

As to why Imoen can be resurrected, I really don't buy the story she is a Bhaal child. Remember its Irenicus who says that and then he gives her soul to his sister while taking the soul of your PC. Then again I have been known to be wrong.

As to the second question perhaps you are mixing Maze with Imprisonment. In Maze the character returns after an alotted time. Imprisonment is permanent unless a release spell is cast. When imprisonment occurs the character image imprisoned disappears from the group.

Kaltia 03-27-2003 09:11 PM

No, he isn't mixing maze/imprisonment; he noticed that his PC returned BUT ONLY IF THERE WAS AT LEAST ONE OTHER LIVING PARTY MEMBER! If that character dies whilst yours is still mazed, then you get the death animation. Maze drives soloers nuts, for that reason

So what if no one is there to fight my enemies while I'm Mazed? It still isn't a lethal spell.

And if my party members are pledged to my cause and following me, they'd surely resurrect me.

Kaltia 03-27-2003 09:19 PM

I think it's because you have to have at least one character on the screen. Otherwise the game thinks your entire party has died.

Yes, I know that. I just think it's dumb.

Me too, I wish you could change it so that your character could be resurrected but
a) it'd remove a fair bit of the storyline
b) It's an intristic part of the game and can't be changed.
