I've read a few other posts on this subject but I'm still not too sure how to go about this.
I started a new group with an evil multi-classed mage/thief and I want to side with Bodhi this time. I want Edwin in my party too, so my question is whether doing Mae'Var's quest automatically gives you the Thieves' Stronghold or not. Would this then screw up Bodhi's offer? I'd like to do as much as I can with Mae'Var and the Shadow Thieves and then side with Bodhi, if at all possible. What sorts of steps should I take here? I also got a little worried after reading some earlier posts about thieves not being able to side with Bodhi (but it was only for pure-class thieves). Phew! Is this true? There were a few conflicting answers that I read about this. |
Good point there. Possible Spoiler
~ ~ ~ ~ IIRC you only get the Thief Stronghold when you've completely obliterated Mae'Vars little guild. When you then return to Aran Linvail, AND you're a thief, you can accept the now empty guild as your stronghold. What I do not know however, is how you can obtain Edwin if you want to side with Bodhi. I've always sided with the Shadows Thieves (have always played good too, but that'll change; I plan on becoming even more evil than Six of Spades, judging from his "I'm STILL a Naughty Boy" thread)) so I don't know how you can let him join you when you're evil.. You won't get Mae'Vars quests when you don't side with the Shadow Thieves, right? |
Spoiler (Maybe)
- - - - - - - If your a theif, Bodhi won't trust you, and you'll have to side with the Shadow Thieves and Aaron. |
Ah! That really does make sense, actually. My head was already starting to hurt from thinking too much about the whole thing. Thanks for solving that one, Sir Goulum

Yeah, I read that if you were a thief you could not side with Bodhi, but if you were multi-classed or a dual-class (with the thief class inactive) then you could side Bodhi.
It's confusing. Arrrr.... And if you side with Bodhi without doing Mae'Var's quest, you lose Edwin because the thieves all turn hostile. [ 03-11-2003, 06:19 PM: Message edited by: Shadowbane ] |
It is odd that Edwin is a perfect "side-with-Bodhi" NPC, but if you don't do things in the right order, you can't get him to join. You need to go to the Docks before ever going to the Graveyard (well, ok, you could go in the daytime, but just to be safe, don't go yet). Then do Renal's whole quest & get Edwin. Only afterwards is it "safe" to go to the Graveyard (at night) if you want to side with Bodhi.
