Huh????Your main char is around 20, and a child of Bhaal.Bhaal walked on earth during the time of troubles, which were a long time ago, as the game says.I really dont get it.

Maybe this clears up some dark area's (got it from Vedran)

The Year of Shadows (the year of the Time of Troubles), was 1358 DR. The year of starting the BG1 - 1368 DR.

So you see it could have been done... I think..

And PC was born before the Time of Troubles - he is in his early twenties at the beggining of BG1.
Don't fret to much over BG and timeline - it is all messed up. As was discussed in this thread. WARNING - spoilers are there.

WYSIWYG - What you seek is what you get. BTW, what is confusing? Everything is so clear: Bioware wasn't very careful with the timing.

Wow someone retraced my ol thread SWEET! Anyhow Bhaal foresaw his death and saw no way to escape his fate. He had children a lot of children but I don't know since when though.

SixOfSpades 02-26-2003 04:51 PM

Precisely. In fact, the opening movie for BG2 states: "One such deity foresaw his own death, and walked the land before the cataclysm. He left behind a score of mortal offspring...."

The only thing that truly doesn't make sense is how an Elf and a Human were born at the same time, and grew to maturity at the same time. Perhaps Bhaal had the Elf kid about 60 years before the Human kid, but still, that's a LOT of babysitting for Gorion.

Alan_Sephiroth 02-26-2003 04:54 PM

Man, even the FFVIII R=U theory is less confusing than this!

The bit that i find most confusing is Abazigal. He is a dragon and, as you know, dragons take a very loooooong time to mature. Abazigal, who is in the same generation as yourself, has a son who is also a very powerful dragon. Even if Abazigal is many many years older than yourself, it is unlikely that he would have offspring that are mature. Food for thought.
