What you're thinking of is the Melodic Chain, wearable by bards. There is a suit of elven chain available in chapter 2, worn by Lord Alibakkar in Trademeet.

For the so called rarity of Elven Chain, they are in fact, quite common in SoA.

You can cast spells in any Elven chain. You must be a multi classed mage though.

What really bugs me is that anybody can wear Elven Chainmail. You must be of body size slight, slender, and small. Some Halflings and Half Elves and those sorts of small folk can wear it, but, very few humans can.

Thats why i want to find one pretty quick: I'll feel better once my blade have this melodic chain coz at the moment he's my only spell caster except Jaheira (i plan on having Edwin).
