This is a pretty neat trick wich will allow a character to use items like scrolls and potions that he can´t normally use.
Take, for example, a plain Fighter, a Scroll of Fireball, and an item that he CAN use, like a Potion of Healing. Go to the inventory screen and right-click on the potion and then press Drink potion(you will hear a "gulping" sound). Now move the potion(it will still be there until you exit the inventory screen) to an empty slot in your inventory and the place the scroll where the potion used to be. When you exit the inventory your character will use the scroll instead of the potion :D Spellcasting Monks anyone |
didn't knew about it.... but isn't it so that fighter classes can't use scrolls so they aren't allowed in the quickitem slots 2... or am I really wrong here?

By slot I mean an empty inventory space. Sorry if I wasn´t more exact what I meant.

Isn't that cheating, having a fighter use a wizard item?

The most famous use of this exploit is to swap in a scroll of find familiar for the potion, allowing any class to get a familiar. (Although maybe the Wizard Slayer kit can't use the trick--do they have any items to do this with?--no potions after all)

*IF* you have ToB, Wizard Slayers can use all types of Healing Potions, as well as Antidotes and Elixirs of Health. They may not use Potions of Regeneration.
If you're playing with plain SoA, Wizard Slayers can't use Jack S. |
