How do i prevent the mage (a friend of drizzt) from taking back my "well" earned scimitar defender +5 ? you can't fight the damn guy, and if you don't give it back, but put it on the ground for three times, he imprisons you.. is there any way to keep the thing? thanks....

and hate me for killing drizzt and his entire party again haha.. (also killed him in BG1)

You can't, unless you cheat. I believe this was implemented in the game to keep things balanced...

have u tried, timestop -> shapechange mindflayer?
maybe a protection from magic scroll to....

it worked for arkanis.

Ar-Cunin 02-05-2003 12:56 PM

Perhaps (never tried it): sell it - and wait with buying it back until you go the Suldenessar?

I once killed D + Party (evil) and went straight to the Adventures Mart and sold the loot. When Melchior arrived he just stood there without engaging in conversation.

The tactic Time-Stop mindflyer will not work, because like Arkanis Gath (patched version) he will keep respwaning... just like Melchior.. he will respawn and find you an other time... Install the Ease-of-use-mod to disable the wraith of Melchior... so you can keep the items of Drizzt Do'Urden

you can find this mod here:

thnks i was really looking forward to using his weapons but will this mod screw up my saved games or make anything else easy?

Alson 02-05-2003 02:52 PM

It is a WeiDU mod - so all installation, uninstallation and compatibility issues should be simple enough as long as you read attached README file.

Vedran 02-05-2003 03:11 PM

Ease-of-Use consists of many separate components, and you choose which you want to install.
But easier would be to spawn the Items after he takes them.

thanks for all your help and advice, i'm gonna try the Ease-Of-Use thing , to get rid of melchor... and i don't want to start another topic about this again, but do you have any tips on beating dragons, and how the hell do i kill greater wolfveres on my own? they seem unbeatable when you solo a game, since they regenerate really fast... i can't beat any of them... thanks again...

For anything that regenerates, you have to find a way to increase your damage per round. I don't know what class your playing, but hasting yourself always works. Also, summoning in extra helpers for more damage potential helps; Kitthix and Horn of Valhalla are useable by any class. If you can slow or hold a regenerating creature, you also slow or stop their regeneration. Try using Kitthix's Ensnare ability, or the Flail of Ages for slow effect.
