Ok this may not fully be related to bg2, but who are these guys with the spells for names like Melf? I've been wandering if there are stories or something that tell of these poeple. If anyone knows and will tel me thanks.

let's see, Melf, Otiluke, Tasha, Otto, Bigby, Nystul, Tenser, Leomund, Evard, Rary, Mordenkainon, Dramij, and Serten were all originally Greyhawk characters, some such as Mordenkainen and Melf were actual gamers at Gary Gygax's table (IIRC Mordy was gary's son) one or two may have come from various dragon amgazine articles before 2nd ed D&D came out.

Larloch is a powerful lich in Forgotten Realms, known to be allied with Szass Tam, the Zulkir of Necromancy, and leading contender for sole rulership of Thay.

Aganazar, and Abi Dalzim I know naught of, their spells were introduced in forgotten Realms literature, in the case of Aganazar, and in the Tome of magic for Abi Dalzim, who probably saw first printing in Dragon magazine.

Mordy was Gary himself. Melf was Gary's brother Ernie. Leomund was Leonard Lefofka (sp?). Some of the others were also G. Gygax's own characters (I believe Bigby and Tenser).

Excuse my naivete, as my knowledge of D & D and roleplaying games etc. is limited strictly to BG2, but who is Gary Gygax? Thanks, Decurion

Kinda like the guy who started the whole shebang to begin with.

"Khelben" makes an appearance in the Sahuagin City. Play with the Imps. ;)

Ahh yes I knew I forgot someone, Khelben "the blackstaff" is a chosen of Mystra, much like Elminster and as such is a really really old mage-guy with more than a few spells created specifically by him.

Gary Gygax is the co-creator of D&D, Dave Arneson was the other guy, and he got essentially written out of the project. you can do a google search for Gary's website, it's got some good information on his views of gaming, as well as his new gaming project.

What I'd like to know is who Nahal is/was. I've Googled like mad looking for something on him/her, but come up with nothing but "Here's my Wild Mage's character sheet! I like Nahal's Reckless Dweomer!" Admittedly, I too am way too fond of that little spell, but I'd like to know who I have to thank for it. Anyone know?
