I just recently got ToB, so I was totally in the dark about the HLA's. However, today while in watchers keep, I got my sorceror up to a level where he got a HLA. So I chose "summon planetar" thinking hey, a high level summon this might come in handy sometime, definately a step up from skel warriors and mordy swords. Anyways, I summoned this thing on level 4 of WK, and all I can say is Yikes!

He single handedly took out all the githani in their encampment with no fancy pulling, just a big mob vs the planetar in two different spots. Then, he took out the red dragon that is below their encampment with a minimal amount of help from my sorceror. Meanwhile, I am sitting at my computer thinking, "sheet, why ever cast another spell again?" Then I took a look at the spells they can cast and its almost laughable a high level fighter/cleric/mage that is nearly immune to all elemental damage, and has a high magic resist. Anyone else think these are just a *touch* too powerful?

No, but only because you are restricted to one of that type of creature at any given time. Now if you had four or five of them....

I don't remember a red dragon in watcher's keep. I remember having to fight a green dragon with no name.

The crazy one that drops the staff of the ram, forgot his name hehe

Doesn't ring any bells, I don't remember getting a staff of ram either. I must have missed him. I will need to play the game again I may have missed a good many things, I have only been throug ToB once and am taking a long break before going back again. Been playing to many FR games during the same time frame.

Saladrex something isn't it?

Planetars can make a big mess indeed. The only time they completely sucked was vs the end boss in ToB. They lasted for about 5 sec or so... Anyway troughout the rest of the game theyre unstoppable.

I think its two dragons in WK, Saladrex is one of them.

Saladrex is the red one. The only hassle about defeating that one is to keep low-HP characters from recieving the full brunt of it's firebreath. You encounter Saladrex in the Githyanki lair. (Githyanki has a spiritual bond to red dragons).

The nameless green dragon that you encounter next is even wimpier. It took me exactly two mouse clicks to destroy it. And yes, there WAS a planetar involved in the second battle. Man, my party didn't even see the beast before the planetar had finished it off.

Were was the red dragon in the Githyanki lair? I remember getting some things from a dragon statue in the area I killed the Githyanki captain, there was also a door at the back leading to a Demi Lich. But I did not spot heads or tails of a dragon any were. Did I miss a room or something?

Brennihelvete 01-29-2003 05:40 PM

yes there was a second door leading to Saladrex
