I try using the rasie dead scroll
but it never works, it just makes
light and then it is done.Can anyone
help me?thanks

Are you casting it on an elf?
I think elves cannot come back...
And the person that is dead still has to have their picture on the right hand screen. If not (symbolizes total bodily destruction), then they cannot come back.
