I wanted to create a party of 3 People for mutliplayer. i usually only play with 1 or 2 so this is a strech for me.

I was hink maybe an Elvin Archer Dwarf Barbarian and a Human Mage
any feedback would be welcome.

Hrm.

Well, if you want all your bases covered, I would say, Elven Archer, Halfling Fighter/Thief, and a Half Elf Cleric/Mage.

You would have some druid spells, thief skills, mage and cleric spells, plenty of healing, the ability to cast Restoration, turning undead, and some very good assassination skills if you know how to use your Halfling to his full potential. Your mage/cleric could summon all sorts of tanks to provide the archer with a good fence to shoot behind from.

<font color="gold">Want a power-group or a more having-fun-group?

No matter which, I suggest somewhat like this:
Human Sorcerer
Half-Orc Berserker
Gnome Cleric/Thief

A very mixed party, but can also be a very powerful one.
Use the Sorcerer as your main spellcaster. It is a very powerful class, and a very potent one.
The Berserker is your tank. He can have 19 in both Strength and Constitution, and he can be as dumb as he want. Mix this with Grand Mastery and Berserker Rage, and even Minsc and Boo would tremble before him.
The Gnomish Cleric/Thief is just for fun, and for those abilities which the Sorcerer and Berserker doesn't possess (read: clerical spells and rogue-abilities).

What about a summoner party?

A skald, a totemic druid and a conjurer.

Or perhaps something like this...

Elven Archer
Dwarven Fighter/Cleric
Halfing or gnome Mage/Thief(not sure if halfings can be mage thief, also the gnome can get 19 Int. But on the other hand the halfing would have acsess(im pretty sure thats spelled wrong) to necromantic spells like Abi Dalzim and Finger of Death, so its really up to you)

Havent tried, but i would say thats a very powerful party .

Edit. checked the halfling thing. nope they cant be mage/thief. bummer. perhaps gnome or half-elf then, depending on youre need of necromantic spells.

A Summoner Party would become DISGUSTING!

Using the right mage spells to break the summon limit, having a bunch of spirit animals, and then having a skald around to whip them into a fighting frenzy... **Shudders** I don't even want to think about just how awful that could end up being. The game would become boring quickly. The skald's own mislead could sing as well, and, song stacks. So, make that two skalds singing, then have the druid buff properly, have the conjurer buff as well, like say, improved haste. You could easily have monsters walking around with -12 AC or thereabouts or even better, hasted, and massive bonuses to both hit and damage...

OH THE HUMANITY!

I'm a big fan of the 3-man party,.. gives a great combo of group-power and fast level up IMHO. My current 3-man party ( 4-man in ToB now though ) was:
-Fighter/cleric = incredible fighter that takes allmost no damage
-fighter/mage = incredible fighter that doesnt take damage
-archer = incredible archer that doesnt take damage

:D

My party for SoA consists of 3 dual class characters:

kensai/MAGE
ranger/CLERIC
swashbuckler/FIGHTER

All three members of the party are able to fight. Also, the party contains a mage, a cleric and a druid. The swashbucker part of the fighter is there only to detect and remove traps, otherwise, the last character is a pure warrior.
If you are a "fighter" type player of SoA then I recommend trying the party

Are they all dualled at 9?
