Andontur
This mighty blade was imbued by none other than the famed Elminster, Sage of Shadowdale, for Trau, the Bhaalspawn. While meddling in the affairs of others was customary of the Sage, giving away personally created magical equipment was not. No doubt Elminster knew of the troubles that would be brought before Trau, it is unlikely that this reason alone warranted the Sage to go through the labor of producing this mighty sword. Trau was the foster child of the now deceased Gorion, a friend of Elminster, and this probably had much to do the the special treatment of young Trau.

thats a good sword for BG1. Definetly not overpowered(though it a higher enhantment than any other weapon, but oh well). For bg2, it wouldnt be so good anymore.

In BG2, it's still a very powerful weapon in the initial stages of the game, though. I think it's slightly too powerful for BG1, but it's been a while since I've played that game.

That depends on what stage of the game its given to the character. the Spiders Bane +2 is actually, IMHO, a better sword, what with Free Action while equipped.
Then theres always Drizzt's Twinkle, a +3 with the +2 AC modifier(so it wasnt the highest enchanted item).

I plan to give it to my character when Elminster talks to you when you arrive in Baldur's Gate.

thats a very good place to give it, i would think. also, with IEEP cant you "meddle" with the dialogues. you could like make Elminster say something about the sword like he thinks that a young and strong warrior would have more use for it than an old man as himself

Yeah, I could mess with the dialogue, but I have no clue how to do so.
