i did the following i went with valygar in my party and entered the ....planar sphere *dun da dun dun*

then role playing the fact that i was evil saying something like ''i must thank you for your help valygar ,but im afraid you've outlived your usefullness'' (yea yea so i tend to get a bit carried away)

then killing him n taking him to tolgerias getting the ring of the ram exp and whatever
then goin back to the sphere witch has been unlocked offcourse *i went in w/ valygar* eventually killing tolgy inside ending up with another ring of the ram ....

so now viccie has 2 ring of the ram(s)

Opinions :D

That is SO CHEESY.... and well known trick.

Eternal 01-17-2003 02:15 PM

why tho? you should be able to enter the sphere for your own personal agenda but still claiming a reward for his death

it was only when i found the second ring of the ram on tolgerias his body that i started wondering.....

ahh well

Yanez 01-17-2003 02:24 PM

Well this is a part of cheesy tactic to obtain 3 (yes three) Rings of the Ram, but why would you need them so many, beats me. Just one is quite enough. (At least if you aren't a hard core powergamer, in that case six is a nice round number.)

purre 01-17-2003 02:50 PM

Nah,not cheating, good way to..well,get more 'ring of ram's ;) well,I dont even use them..ever..but I guess that one more is never a bad thing :D

Raistlin Majere 01-17-2003 03:30 PM

i usually just steal the damn ring from tolgerias, then kill him inside the sphere and get the second one. can you get three if you combine the "tactics". just wondering, i dont use them either. except on golems.

SixOfSpades 01-17-2003 07:44 PM

If you didn't *know* that it was possible to get more than 1 Ring, and instead found it out by accident, then it's not cheesy. Although, now that you have both Rings, you might consider it cheesy to keep the second one.

I forget exactly what the Item Description for the RoR says, and so it might be quite plausible that Rings of the Ram are a (relatively) common item. Heck, Tolgerias might even make the things in his spare time, and have whole crates of them in his garage. Pickpocketing Kangaxx to obtain a duplicate Ring of Gaxx is considered to be exploiting a bug, and is remedied by BaldurDash. No such bugfix is included for the Ring of the Ram. Or the Ring of Regeneration, come to think of it.

One thing that the Ring of the Ram is supposed to be good for is that it can harm Kangaxx in his demi-lich form, so I wonder how much easier that fight would be if you hit him with three of the rings' blasts simultaneously?

Pyrenk 01-17-2003 08:54 PM

That, and IIRC, they do 30 damage.

Vedran 01-18-2003 04:41 AM

You know, Six, you are a clever one. That is quite possible solution.

Ring of the Ram
Also known as the Breaker of Castles, with one word this ring can unleash fantastic and deadly powers. When it is triggered, a barely discernible ram-like shape billows forth from the ring. This force can potentially knock opponents off of walls, destroy castle gates, or crush enemies, but it is damaging as well, in its own right.

STATISTICS

Damage: Once per day, 5-30 hit points of damage to an opponent.
