well just think, it would suck if the plot path you took suddenly forced you up against the real arkanis wouldn't it ? the game would be unplayable past that point.

I think saying he's away on business would be more convincing then having him guard an important shipment from vampyres without his best gear

Pay attention now. It was just posted that you kill Arkanis Gath in the first vampire quest.

Did anyone know that Arkanis Gath is invincible. I modified him via Shadow Keeper so that he doesnt have that kill sword. Well, i got him to near death but he wouldnt die. btw, hes a killer even without his sword. i kind of cheated myself, giving my pc over 20 thousand hp, assuring that i would beat him. well, didnt happen.

There's another thread about killing Mr. Gath which details his abilities. IIRC he's wearing the same belt the Imoen has in Jonny's place - preventing him from going below 1HP and giving immunity to certain spells.
