There are these smasher traps akin to the garbage compactor from Star Wars Episone IV - on crack, meth, and steroids!! I can't disarm them. I detect them just fine and then die!die!die! when I attempt to disarm them. My PC is a Thief w/ 100+% in F/R Traps. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I presume you're just starting to do Bodhi's gauntlet?

Here's a hint. Go back to where she first taunts you and look around - you'll see another area you can explore on the east side of your screen that will get you past that obstacle.

Oh, I got past the obstacle - and actually I'm just getting ready to start a riot in the Chateau. But, I never knew whether or not I could disarm these babies.

Nope - this specific trap happens to be the only un-disarmable trap in the game. ;)

However, IIRC, the trap's smashing effect only happens once. If you're so eager on going through it, just sacrifice a War Dog or something. [img]smile.gif[/img]

They can't be disarmed, only avoided.

<font color="gold">Aye, this is a good tip, and I was just about to say it. A slight nitpick, though, it goes off more than one time. What you need to do, is to summon perhaps two or three animals, and first send these through, and then go yourself. ;) </font>

I don't know if this happens with anybody else but often if i send a summon in when it goes off it kills the summoner too. no matter where they are standing

Trust me, I've been hit enough, it goes off more than once.

I don't considered them as traps... It's more like a damage-dealing floor...

<font color="deepskyblue">I read in a Walkthrough that you can get through the room by walking single file in the exact middle of the room, but I never tested that theory. After getting squashed twice, I just went around.</font>
