You know, and I've been thinking about what you all said about combining the Kensai with the Thief class at 15 level, then boost the thief class all the way to 24 level to get UAI, and I figure it'll take a rationally LONG LONG time to do with a party of six. Have you all ever considered using the CLUA Console codes to create monsters and beat the crap out of them to get Exp that way? I know this may sound lame, but I'd figure it's the better way to gain Exp., you know, fighting Pit Fiends or Drow Warriors.

If you're gonna do that, you may just as well use the console to give yourself the XP.

Well if you do not use CLUA then I have no problem with this. Have a spell caster do this for you it may take a long long long time but at least there is no cheese. You could also cut your party size back. Or try a solo game. ;)

I had an evil sorc that had summon fiend memorized and used to do this. It's still roleplaying and not cheatin'/cheezin'. You only want to do this if you're in a party, though, as 96000xp per sleep is a bit extreme for a solo character.

CreateCreature:('Ray') was always the best one in BG1 - a 3000XP Gibberling!

Not quite as useful in BG2 since 3000XP is nothing. Seriously - just use SetCurrentXP instead.

Animal, actually, I did try and just give 'em the XP, except there's a glitch in that. When you set the XP, and then say you go into ToB, then the XP just stays the same, you can't gain anymore.

Hmmm.

This was a little strange...

I used a limited wish and asked for experience in Kangaxx's tomb just after killing his first form (because I was protected from undead, I had to wait for it to run out - I got bored).

Anyway, this summoned... 1 iron golem (25K exp), a sand golem (16K exp) and a third golem (cant remember what, about 12K exp).

Kangaxx's second form woke up while I was fighting the iron golem, and I managed to wonk them (means kill them) both without dying Yay me, and yay to the magic protection scroll

Anyway, only mentioned it because I got a LOAD of experience by casting the limited wish in that location

And there's only one limited wish scroll in the game right?

Dace De'Briago 01-11-2003 07:09 AM

Not sure.

I was a L16 mage, so I could actually cast it as a L7 spell anyway

In the game i'm playing, i've picked up no less than 4 LW scrolls. This is not including any that may be purchased in stores (if there even are any in stores). It's possible that they may be spawned as 'random treasure' anywhere in your travels.
