I am importing my Human Fighter from Baldurs Gate 1. He has a Con of 19 (Used Tome of Con to add 1 point to Con), and in BG 1 his HP is a nice 75 at Lvl 8. However when I import him into BGII his HP drops into the 50's. Why is this ? The other character with con of only 17 have more HP's than me. Its quite anying anyone know why it happening?
Stats: Race: Human Class: Fighter Str: 19 Dex: 19 Con: 19 Int: 19 Wis: 14 Cha: 11 Thanks for any help. |
2 things to try:
1) Go into the game, set the Difficulty to Normal, and Save the game. (Or, use the Config program to set the Difficulty.) Start a new game and see if your HP are any higher, since Normal difficulty ensures that you'll roll the maximum each time you Level Up. 2) Start a Multiplayer game instead. When it's time to roll your 6 party members, Import the same *.CHR file for each of the 6 characters. Once you're in the game, see which of the 6 has the most hitpoints, and Export that character under a different name, and then use him in your Single Player game. Oh, and by the way, I have no idea if either of those will work. ;) Better than nothing, though. |
or just edit the savegame file with Shadow Keeper and give yourself back your 75 hitpoints that you had before
btw, why did you spend so many points on int for a fighter ? still huge stats anyway so it doesn't matter huh |

I know huh, even if he used *every* tome on the one guy it's still a 95 to start with. very nice stats

Had a similar problem when I imported my native 95 statter into SoA as well, hit points dropped just like yours.
What I did to solve this (probably buggy) was keep playing BG1 until I got max exp (89000). Then when I imported my character, he had the correct HP (something ridiculously high ). I don't think anyone would care much if you used one of the character mod programs to give yourself the extra hp (BTW. to get my 95 base, I was rolling for 1h 20 mins). |
dude I'm telling you it's 95
take 1 off every stat for the tomes 18 + 18 + 18 + 18 + 13 + 10 = 95 I even checked it with a calculator when you said I was wrong (bloody had me worried, thought I couldn't count anymore) lol |
except there are 2 more tomes of wisdom.
95 - 2 = 93 :D |
Aside from the stat issue - I've noticed the same problem with HP.
A level 10 (161000XP) Thief from BG1 had 75HP (16 CON and I only accepted rolls of 5 or 6). Importing via save-game into BG2 the same guy had HP in the mid 50s. Interestingly I decided to restart the game (I love Irenicus' dungeon so much </sarcasm>) and forgot to put the correct kit (Assassin) on him. Aside from wondering why I got so many more skill points he had the correct number of HP. Redoing the process as an Assassin reduced the HP to mid 50s again. It makes me think that it's a deliberate thing. I've just accepted it and put it down to cumulative trauma of the testing by jonny boy. |
