minsc does hahaha. GO FOR THE EYES BOO! GO FOR THE...

rhapsody407 01-03-2003 11:12 PM

oh, along the same lines. In my current game, Minsc was petrified in the worst place possible: the Astral Plane. he wasn't destroyed, i managed to save him, but there was no mage in my party to use stone to flesh. I had been using Haer'Dalis...so i went and got him, and immediately left. Is there anyway to get him back (mb via a wish?) (i didn't leave...it was automatic, because of that Raelis Shai playwright)

If you lose a character in an area you can't return to once you leave (e.g. the Astral Prison, Brynnlaw, etc.), then no, you can't legitimately get them back (well, more or less... read on...)

I can think of 2 ways you might be able to get around that, though.

1) Wait til you play Throne of Bhaal. Near the beginning, you should be able to summon any NPC (in general - you'll see once you get there).

2) Use CLUAConsole to teleport yourself back to the area that you lost the NPC (AR0516 is the Astral Prison, I believe - if that makes no sense, let me know & I'll give you the steps), revive the NPC, then teleport back to where you left.

This has happened to me before but when i used the CLUA Console to go back, Jahiera was no longer there. ALWAYS carry an item that reverses petrification. A ring of earth control, scroll of stone to flesh or the equivalent spell. You don't even have to memorize it. It will save you much time and heartache.

The same goes for scrolls/spells of freedom.

you can also go to your saved game (if you have one) and CLUA yourself one of the items mentioned by Sever to unfreaze him. It's cheating, but otherwise you lose Minsc and Boo and that would be heart breaking.

This is superb advice. I was fighting the SotM enemies (most of you know who i eman), and Minsc (what is it about Minsc? ;) ) got petrified at the very end of the fight. I had no spellcaster who had "Stone to Flesh" memorised, nor any scroll. I was tearing my hair out, then *light pops on above head* I remembered the Ring of Earth Control that I had been carting about. One special ability later, and Minsc was an ex-Minsc-statue

In short, as Sever said - always carry at least one Stone to Flesh. It's handy
