I was browsing some of the other Mods available from this site. I am really enjoying the increased challenge of the Tactics Mod, so I was thinking of downloading some of the others. I'm specifically interested in the "Ease of Use" and "Enhanced Weapons" Mods, since I think both would help "offset" the new challenges I am facing.

My question is about the "Ease of Use" Mod specifically, though. I noticed it included several of the more popular Baldurdash patches (Exp Cap Remover, Happy Party, Concurrent Romances, etc). On the Baldurdash site, the instructions specifically state that these patches WILL NOT install properly if I have ToB installed - but the Weimer Mod says that their Mod (which includes these same patches) DOES work even if ToB is installed.

So which one is right? Did Weimer "fix" the ToB incompatability problem? Or do I need to UN-Install ToB, download the Weimer Mod, then Re-Install ToB?

BTW, thanks to everybody who suggested the Tactics Mod. I was so proud of finally killing the Improved Ilyich that I went home last night and re-created my assassin, then started the dungeon over from the beginning. This time, it only took a little over 3 hours to defeat the group. Used the same tactics as before (luring them into the hallway to the left of the library. One additional tactic that helped a LOT was the Set Snares ability of my assassin. On my very first attempt, Zhivago was the first person through the door and he never made it into the hallway...the damage from the traps killed him outright. Unfortunately, the REST of the party came in and successfully avenged his death.

It still took several tries, but it still went much quicker the second time around.

you can install the ease of use mod with tob already installed. i have that mod too. i recomend you should try the shapeshifter rebalancing mod (part of ease of use) its great!! a little overpowered but not exactly a god. (yet ), they are coming out with a revision with that mod, to make it more normal and balance.

Weimer did fixed the incompatability problem.
AFAIK, he did not actually altered the files themselves - it was the program he wrote, WeiDU, who could safely install them over ToB.

Tip: Assassins can poison their traps, too.

REALLY?!?!?!? I will definitely have to try that. How do I apply the poison to the traps?

Alson 01-01-2003 12:10 PM

Just like you apply it to a sword. ;)

Well, I'm a little confused. I just started trying this last night, but when I would click on the "Coat Weapon" skill, it automatically applied the instructions to my sword.

Do I need to "sheathe" my swords and click on this ability with no weapons in hand?

Just use your ability as per normal. During the dururation of Poison Weapon, any weapon that the Assassin use is poisoned.

I thought that Traps do not count as an attack, just as a Skull Trap or a Delayed Blast Fireball do not count as attacks.

Actually, they do. One of my favorite tactics as a dual Assassin/Mage is to use the Coat Weapon skill, then use Melfs Minute Meteors. Poison meteors, what could be better?
