Am I the only one who does not consider Blades to be real bards?

In my opinion, bard should be singer, actor and poets, not weapon masters. I think blades should be a fighted kit instead. Also, what is the use of a theater for a blade? They would be better off with the fighter stronghold...

Maybe their affinity for weapons has arisen from their lack of poetic proficiency. (haer'dalis, anyone). I do think that it is justified to have a slightly more combat oriented kit in the bard class. Their extra abilities are compensated by their inferior bard song.

Blades are the weaker version of AD&D's Bladesingers. ;) An exotic dance in which they whirl and twirl around their enemies in a macabre ballet where they slice and dice their targets with precision-timing hits.

i would like to ask, what use is the blades bard song. ive only played the blade briefly and didnt like it. and now ive totally forgotten what it does.

There is not much point in using the Blade's Bard Song until you have ToB and upgrade it to the Improved Bard Song.

Well said Dundee. Anyway a Blade is one of the best classes in the game. (with ToB of course ;) ) They can even kick big boss @^55. I'd even go so far as to say they could (COULD) beet a 20th lvl sorcerer at lvl 30...

BTW: Why is everyone suddenly interested in blades? HAve they finnaly realised its true power <wonders>

i remembered that it did close to nothing, and i got bored of bards, because i chose the bard class mainly because of the bards song. i guess i should have read the class description a little better, for it says for the blade that bards song doesnt get better. oh well, perhaps ill try a pure bard one of these days.
