Well? Is there a way? I know barbairians or whatever can have 19 strength and the like, but I hear stuff about constitutions of 20 and whatnot.

You can take a character through BG1 and then import him to BG2. Doing this can yield +1 to all stats (+3 to WIS) by collecting certain stat-raising manuals.
You get some stat increases when collecting the tears of Bhaal in the hell area.
Also, if you have ToB, you can get bonuses in Watcher's Keep level four.
you can also be a race that gets bonuses to certain stats.
You can also use the Deck of Many Things (ToB Watchers Keep) to get +1 to your classes primary attribute .
I also have BG1 + ToTSC, so when I REALLY want to play BG, I play my char up all the way, from BG1. In BG1 you can get books, which raise your stats, and in ToB you will also have a chance to raise all the stats by +1. So, in the end you will have a char with quite nice stats.

Technically speaking, the tomes and deck are magical items too, even if they are consumed upon use.
You can raise some stats to 19 or even 20 at character creation, depending on the race of your character. Other than that, there's the aforementioned machine in Watcher's Keep and you have the tears of Bhaal, and that's about it. Oh, and shadowkeeper, although that's 'editing the game' and quite often considered cheating (not that anyone but yourself should care). For purposes of finishing the game, you don't really need high stats. Although I admit they do help. |
