I'm in the underdark and one of my characters got hold by a petrification spell. I looked through the entire manual but I couldn't find anything about it and I tried all kind of speels (Healuing, Greater Restoration, Dispell, Free Action, etc.) and none worked. How do I get rid of this spell once a character is hit? I can't take this character to a temple ar do anything with it anymore.

If you know that an enemy likes to petrify you (like Beholders) cast the lvl 1 wizard spell Protection From Petrification or buy the scroll version. A scroll of Stone to Flesh that can be purchased from any temple is another way to reverse the effects of being turned to stone.
