right i killed the captain and went down the stairs. i know i gotta look for a sword and break riddles. where do i go? help!!!

This entire quest can be done in the sewers you need to find 4 items.

1. Hand - Found in sewer grate on the floor in the circular room with the slimes.
2. Staff - found on the Kobald leader.
3. Lovers ring - found on some dead embraced couple along one of the walls.
4. Friends Blood - Kill the worm thingy next to the man who gives you the quest

Go to the room with the four sewer pipes and place the items in the correct pipes in the correct order thay are supposed to be placed. I don't remember the sequence.

None of the four items have any effects, apart from the staff which is not incredibly powerful.

The staff creates berries which heal 1 hp...not very helpful...

Also I believe the order you put the items into the pipes are...

1 being the top and leftmost and 4 being the bottom and rightmost...

3,1,2,4...I'm not sure though...best thing to do is quick-save then try the pipes out in different orders...

I love being a total whine ass, so I'll just add this part for the information:
the worm thingy is called a Carrion Crawler, and they CAN be quite a nuisance for a low-level party (stunning people and all)
