Man, where is the merchant that sells the inertiabelt? Isnt he supposed to be in the market square in Trademeet? I only find the little fat guy Wallace there. The other guy (philosopher I think) got killed by another NPC, is this right?

Me thinks my game is busted because of all the patches...

Have you saved the town from the druids and djinni? The merchant is only there during the day time aswell. You can stop the Philosopher from being killed if your quick enough. This is where themerchant should be.

yeah, I finished both quests. Even the Tiris quest. I got the rewards and such. Peddler wasnt there before an now he is there, but the good merchant still isnt there.

The vendor who sells the belt looks like nobleman, he's closer to SW gate of Trademeet.

Err... additional npc's, latest bg2 patch, a bunch of weidu mods, two times the bonusmerchants, tactics mods, ritual mod. Its a total mess. ill re-install bg2 and re-use my savegame. Else SK as final resort :(

No, you should be fine. Check for a Nobleman-Like merchant and see if you can find him! Steal it, it doesn't take much pick pocket skill.
