should i do the beginning of Kua-Toa tunnels and Eye Tyrant tunnels 1st? (i can take on beholders) so then i gain experience and levels so i can defeat mind flayers?

HAS NE1 GOT AN ALTERNATIVE! (I AM OPEN TO ANYTHING I AM THAT DESPARATE!!!!!)

Do you have a level 15+ cleric or non-illusionist wizard?

If you do the answer is: Skeleton Warriors! (via Animate Dead).

If your cleric/druid is high enough level, cast chaotic command or chaotic thoughts (forget the formal name) on a fighter and let him duke it out.

I always protect Minsc, because he is VERY susceptible to getting killed outright by psionic blasts. I usually risk the rest of the party because they haven't gotten killed outright yet and at worst get confused/feebleminded.

i'm practically crying now. heres my party
Main Char fighter 13
Minsc Ranger 11
Jaheira Fighter/Druid 10/12
Aerie Mage/Cleric 11/10
Anomen Cleric/Fighter 13/7
Imoen Mage/Thief 12/7

I think Anomen is high enough for chaotic commands. Cast it on your main character, buff buff buff him up, and kick arse.

Oh, and Minsc's berserk may make him immune as well. I'd check on it though, as I usually get pretty sick of Minsc pretty fast and dump him.

one more prob. i used collar of control thingy openned the door and defeated an umber hulk and then i got killed. maybe the spell portection wore out i dunno. but ne more ideas would b helpful.

And optionally, you dont have to do the illithids. Didnt know if u wanted to hear that?

2. yes i already knew but i was doin it to get the hilt of equaliser and a little xp, not to go on a mind flayer slaughter mission. i thought i could get the hilt and run but NOOOOOOOOOO they hav to impison me make me fight and frankly fustrate me.

next time, i gonna read the walkthru properly.
