Upcoming PC games - The Sims: Medieval and "sequel" to Dungeon Keeper
Just browsing today and saw some references to upcoming PC games in 2011. The first one that caught my eye was The Sims Medieval. At first I thought it was an expansion to Sims 3, but turns out It's a brand new game. It's an interesting twist to the Sims franchise, combining the new Sims 3 engine with medieval aspects like questing, kingdoms and magic. I already like the Sims as it is, but now with this fantasy spin on it I am gonna be sure to pick it up and give it a whirl.

Not sure if there's alot of money behind the marketing, as I heard nothing about it until accidentally stumbling upon it this morn, but it certainly looks interesting. It releases next month apparently. Quote:

I'm on a break from WoW, currently playing DCUO. Refreshing change, I know a few of us on IW are playing it. While it still needs some work (Chat system, UI needs a good streamlining, and then some general bugs), it immediately has more content than City of Heroes and Champions Online did at launch (combined). The combat is SO much fun. I am pleasantly surprised. It is a beautiful game too, stellar-looking. Anyways, that's my MMO fix. Above addresses possible SP fixes for me, as I am usually messing around with a single-player game on the side, while playing something online. Up until now it was Civ 5 but I am becoming bored.

Genre - Adventure game, Life simulation game, quest-driven gameplay
It doesn't say anything about being a rpg. So is this similar to the Sim's 3 World Adventure ? |
Re: Upcoming PC games - The Sims: Medieval and "sequel" to Dungeon Keeper
Yes. I doubt this is an RPG at all. More like a fantasy version of the Sims 3, incorporating elements like exploration and questing seen in World Adventures. But it remains a simulation game true and true. I just want to rule a kingdom of Sims, personally.
