Well the problem is, if you conduct a divorce, you must recognise that there was a marriage in the first place. If Texas says we don't recognise gay marriage, then in texas there is no legal way for them to divorce.

And apparently your idea of stupidity is anything that you disagree with.

Mostly. I'm ok with that.

I just think that the logic here ends up in a silly situation. Texas doesn't like gay marriages, so they are forcing two gays to stay married. Trust me, I don't need the legal reasoning explained to me -- we identified this issue when we were working on the civil union law in Vermont 12 years ago, and recognized that people who came there to get a civil union would have to return to the state to get a divorce.
