My Solo Sorc recently got some of the longer lasting summons (Animate Dead: Skeleton Warriors 8 hours & Staff of Fire+2:Lesser Fire Elemental 1 hour) and that has led me to a new problem. I realize that they cannot go through doors but how about travelling between areas? (i.e. between the Slums District & the Docks district?) I can't seem to take them with me to a new area. Is this a bug? What do I do with them when I want to leave the area?
They last so long that I have been having to make them kill each other (and kill the last one myself) before I can leave an area so that I can still get my max 5 summons anywhere else. Is there a way to take them to the next area with me? How about a way to get rid of them without killing them? [ 10-25-2002, 03:02 PM: Message edited by: Beef ] |
It's not a bug - that's the way Summoned monsters are implemented in-game.
And no, there's no way to change this. :( |
And for a reason: a high level sorc could use spell triggers and project images to cast an unlimited number of skel. warriors. I believe dindee had a pic of the final save where the screen was filled (!*!) with skeleton warriors. now these babies last for 8 hours, so basically, you'll be a sorc with infinte partymembers.

Why Sorcerers?
Every class who can cast Arcane Spells can do it. Even Thives with Use Any Item. It's just more convenient with a Sorcerer. Anything is more convenient with a Sorcerer. :D |
call a wizard a slizzard, you'll still find yourself running in the end

There is no way! This is the way summoned creaures have always been since BG.

Read the spell descriptions- summoned monsters can`t leave the area they were summoned in.
In some versions of the game, they unsummon when you rest *anywhere*; other versions you have to rest in the *same* area, or kill them, to be able to get the 5... it is very confusing, though; because the "different" versions where this happens are all Official Patched + Balurdashed + WeiDU mods that don`t affect summons (and in alot of cases the *same* mods, and the same versions)... |
If you have the in-game cheat keys enabled, just ctrl-y them to kill 'em quickly, and move on to the next area. That's what I do (I just pretend that they get unsummoned after I've left the area :D )
